About us

FelicityCarter.com.au is a personal archive website created to preserve journalism, essays, and editorial work that might otherwise disappear from the internet. Despite the belief that online content lasts forever, the reality is that publications close, platforms change, and years of writing can be lost. This site exists to ensure that meaningful work remains accessible, readable, and intact.

The archive brings together articles written across decades of professional experience in journalism, editorial leadership, and strategic communications. It reflects a career shaped by curiosity, rigorous reporting, and a deep commitment to clarity and credibility. Rather than functioning as a traditional blog, the site acts as a long-term record of published work across industries, cultures, and formats.

Today, Felicity Carter is the Editorial Director of Areni Global, a London-based think tank focused on ethics, sustainability, and leadership in the global wine industry. In this role, she leads editorial direction for complex research projects, helping transform detailed data into clear, authoritative narratives that inform decision-makers and industry leaders.

In addition to journalism, Felicity works with organisations that have strong data but lack a clear editorial voice. She develops editorial strategies, white papers, research reports, and long-form content that bridges the gap between information and understanding. This work ensures that valuable insights are communicated effectively, rather than being lost in technical language or poor structure.

From 2021 to August 2022, Felicity was the founding Executive Editor of The Drop at Pix Wine, a wine-focused search engine. Under her leadership, the platform quickly established trust and authority, earning recognition from the Wall Street Journal as one of the most trusted wine resources on the web within months of launch.

Before that, she spent more than a decade as editor-in-chief of Meininger’s Wine Business International, a global English-language publication produced by Meininger Verlag in Germany. During this time, she reported from 22 countries, covering wine markets, regulation, sustainability, and trade at an international level.

Earlier in her career, Felicity wrote across diverse industries, including the arts, oil and gas, and specialist sectors rarely covered in depth. She also worked as an advertising copywriter in major agencies, producing creative work for global brands such as Qantas, Adobe, and MasterCard. This background continues to influence her editorial clarity and audience awareness.

Alongside industry reporting, the archive includes cultural and lifestyle writing, touching on food, wine, and everyday experiences. Topics may range from fish and chips in Sydney, reflections on wild-catch seafood, to questions such as whether wine is gluten free. These pieces use familiar subjects to explore wider cultural, social, and commercial themes.

FelicityCarter.com.au exists to protect professional memory, context, and intellectual work. It is a space where journalism is not dependent on the lifespan of a publication, but preserved as part of a long-form editorial record.
